Beetroot Hummus

If you love earthy and sweet taste like me, then this beetroot hummus is definitely for you! A great alternative to normal hummus and is super delicious.

it is filled with antioxidants, and iron-rich and contains phytonutrients which support liver detoxification.

As per Ayurveda, Beetroots are great for someone with Vata and Pitta Constitution as they are Sweet, warming and earthy. For Kapha type of personality can eat them in limited quantities.



1. Beetroot - 2

2. Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons

3. Peanuts - 1 tablespoon

4. Salt to taste

5. Lemon juice - 1.5 teaspoon

6. Pistachios - 4

7. Black Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)


Peel the skin off the Beets and sprinkle salt and olive oil and Wrap the beetroots in a silver foil and bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes on gas mark 5 or at 200 degrees celsius.

Meanwhile, blend together sesame seeds and Peanuts in a blender by adding salt and pepper. Make it in to smooth paste by adding water as needed.

Once the beets are cooked, use a fork to check and it should go in without any resistance. Now, blend beets together with the earlier smooth paste by adding as little water as possible. Serve with fresh carrots or some healthy oven-baked sweet potato fries.
